I’ve got a crazy obsession for floral patterns right now!  We’ve got to get that calendar for the garden!

atrium

In Waldo's Garden on August 8, 2013 at 5:43 pm

Like any other 26 year old I keep begging my parents for an atrium at the house!   Waldo’s Secret Garden is in the midst of some neat renovations and while an atrium isn’t quite in the cards yet – I knew if I showed my Mother this plant wall she would go bananas and I was right!  This living wall we spotted while wandering Winter Park in Prato is definitely in the works for the fall weddings at the Garden!   Can’t wait to get started for the special days ahead!

This color makes my heart skip a beat and I’ll be stocking my closet  with lots & lots of pink this spring! Also, how beautiful are those roses?  Here’s a tutorial on how to get them looking all dapper and blossoming!

dots!

In i made this, Style on October 23, 2012 at 10:03 am

I’m gearing up for another style post this weekend and I am really into dots rights now!   This would be a cute little number to own.  I wear pearls with everything –   fake ones of course because if I dealt with real pearls I would probably be out thousands of dollars judging by the way I lose them on a monthly basis.

When in doubt always choose black and white!  It’s just plain snazzy.

I love this dress!  It came in the mail and I was very pleased considering online shopping is rather daring.  I was lucky to have Nicki from vitalic snap a few pictures of me for my style segment!   ( I’ve talked about these photographers this entire week on the blog but they’re well aware that I latch on like a lap dog now).

Being photographed can be  so awkward at times.  All the sudden you’re like – WHAT ARE MY ARMS DOING?  it feels like you have whac-a-mole mallets  hanging from your shoulders and they’re trying to do the robot!  Good visual?   I can see why the candid ones come out so great because you’re most natural and comfortable.

I saw this dress this morning on LuLu’s and I had to have it.  I’m a firm believer that the heart wants what it wants (within reason) I mean my heart didn’t want the UCF PARKING PERMIT I initially set out to buy. That’s just hog wash… but i do now have to assume I will be walking to school in this fly color block dress.

I’ve been completely re-thinking how i travel.  First, it’s time for a suitable carry-on/ purse thing.  I’m partial to that turquoise backpack.  Where were all these cute sacks when we were in elementary, middle and high school?

slowly but surely

In decorative arts, family, Waldo's Garden, work on June 5, 2012 at 7:42 pm

After Waldo’s Garden was featured on 100 layer cake we got tons of e-mails and calls inquiring about this new/old untouched venue.  Then Decorative Arts was honored with the Retail Star of 2012 via Home Accents… it was apparent that, although different businesses, they both had an “in” to a bigger audience.  A fan base that goes past the tri-county area.  So it has been my mission to work my little digits off getting e-mails to magazine prospects (online & published!), e-mailing everybody involved, tweeting to online editors, sitting in Barnes & Noble collecting new magazines, researching tips to woo editors, bugging my friends that have interned at magazines, etc.

The answer is always “No” until you try!

Oh!  And if you (yes, you!) have any tips or advice regarding my venture it would be much appreciated
