bbq inspired straw flags

In i made this, ideas on October 20, 2014 at 8:30 am

Straw flags are super easy to make and look really great for presentation for bridal parties, bbqs, baby showers and weddings!  Paper straws work fine but if you can find plastic ones I say go with those – the paper straw kind of just melts away and tastes funny (but photographs oh so well) Today’s theme is bbq! First download the PDF file I made (below) and follow these super easy steps to making drinks look that much more adorable at your next partayyyy.

1.Print out the PDF (link above) after downloading to your computer (preferably on a sticker matted paper or card stock)

2. cut out each individual flag ( I used a industrial cutter but scissors will do just fine!)

3. make ribbon-like cuts at both ends / 4. Use double sided tape across full length of flag

5. evenly mold the flag around the paper straw and voila!

Graduation in the Garden

In i made this on May 20, 2014 at 8:52 am

I realized I completely forgot to get cute graduation photos at UCF so my friend Chandler MacWilliam of Shotgun & Seashells came over and was nice enough to snap a few photos of me in the Garden in lieu of a normal graduation shoot!  I mean… I spent more time here than in a classroom the past 2 years.

With all the school song and dance over I am so, so happy to be in Vero maintaining all of my own creative pursuits and announcing my e-commerce site is now up!  www.charlotteanabardesigns.com!   Glory Be!  I’ll be adding new designs weekly, wallpaper, stationary and textiles over the summer!

digital art comes to life

In i made this, Waldo's Garden on March 5, 2014 at 10:52 am

I stopped by Countryside Citrus beachside yesterday and loaded up with citrus to get creative!   Here’s a peek at a few ‘3D prints’ so far!  All of these real life citrus prints are variations of different prints I have created digitally over time!  Gracias for the key lime pie & citrus, CSC!  The citrus came in handy last night once we started barreling through vodka! There is nothing better than fresh salty dogs!

shotguns & seashells

In fun on February 6, 2014 at 4:41 pm

Meet Chandler!  She’s the new proud owner of a very cute blog Shotguns & Seashells!  I’m obsessed with the name and all the elegant fashion tips!  Country chic & yachtical all at the same time – I wouldn’t expect anything less from this gal and I’m excited to team up for some fun collaborations soon!

A little bit about Chandler

I was literally raised on the coast of somewhere beautiful, and decided to go off to school in the South for a little change of scenery. I’m a Fashion Retail Major at the University of Alabama and have a love affair with clothes and arm candy. I’m a horse obsessed, nail polish crazed, and cowboy boot loving kind of girl. And that is how I became Shotguns and Seashells. Roll Tide.

Featured!

In i made this, ideas on January 16, 2014 at 4:29 pm

A few amazing things happened between December & January!  I was so honored when the Editor of Portfolio Magazine approached me for a feature! Check out the full magazine here!  Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company also featured me on their Facebook which was equally honoring and so sweet of them to share my citrus inspired prints (second photo).  Then one final one I found about last night was that one of my favorite sites Inspired By This featured one of my prints on their instagram a few weeks ago!  The beauty of pinterest! (last photo)!  I have to say Thank you so much for all of these people following and supporting my artwork –  it really motivates me to keep charging forward with all my design work!

L.A. Photography

In Ain't my art on November 26, 2013 at 2:50 pm

I’ve been following this photographer, Lauren, from LA Photography on Instagram and her photos inspire me every single day.  Last week I just went ahead and said ” YOU’RE F’ING AMAZING PLEASE COME TO THE GARDEN”  and she actually commented back to me (which always excites me!)   I had to share these photographs with you.

And now begins my journey of luring her to Waldo’s Secret Garden (in a non creepy way)

chicken + dumplings

In food ideas on November 26, 2013 at 2:43 pm

My sister-in-law, Tiffany, gave me this recipe a 4 years ago and I have been cooking it ever since!  It’s perfect for the cooler weather coming up (slowly but surely here in Florida).  I made it last week and ate it 3 days in row – every meal.  It’s that fantastic!  I don’t know the exact details of the recipe so I’m just going to use cute words in lieu of actual measurements …

chicken_dumplings

3 boneless chicken breasts

1 canister of homestyle 8 -10 biscuits

a bunch of flour

one bottle of everglades seasoning

a cup of chicken broth

Feeds an army of 8

Directions:  Pour the everglades all over the chicken in a way that seems like “Oh my God this is way too much”! Boil the chicken for one hour.  While waiting cut the biscuits into little dough squares and flour them down … like go crazy with the flour.  Once the chicken is done cooking take it out of the pan and slice it all up.  You then pour in the chicken broth for a bit more flavor.  Put the dumplings in one by one then throw in the chicken and let it cook for 25 more minutes … Then enjoy! Oh and then i toss in a half a stick of butter – ya know just in case!

I recently deleted my ETSY account with my prints because I am trying to get new product photos, a new website etc.    In the meantime I was browsing ETSY – their product photos are something serious these days!  Check out these amazing products and photography!  Those constellation coasters are just dreamy.
