What summer looks like to me!

In ideas on May 20, 2014 at 8:51 am

There’s only a few things I’m currently obsessed with so far this summer and they make me go absolutely bananas when I see them!  Disco balls, flamingos, anything gold, the succulent called string of pearls and finally banana leaves!  I have all the items being shipped so I’m a happy camper!

hello annie!

In fun, i made this on April 16, 2014 at 8:16 pm

Annie… where do I begin?  We have been talking about making clothes out of my patterns via instagram comments and when I finally got the drive to do it I contacted her immediately.  Don’t you love how social media can bring people together?  I love Annie’s style and she has the most adorable ETSY site where she sells her clothing line WRARE .  I may abuse my privileges here because I am so excited for her to make a slew of cute clothes to wear!

ABOUT ANNIE

I started sewing by hand and eventually bought my first Singer sewing machine. Purchased a mannequin and would make myself dresses, skirts, and tops. I worked 2 jobs and would come home from one, make myself an outfit for the next, and then come home from work and sew some more. Then I had a wedding to plan…and I obviously wanted to make my dress. After making my hand stitched 75+ yards of tulle and silk gown, I took a hiatus. And by hiatus I mean I got pregnant and the babe stole ALL of my creativity. I wanted to make my unborn baby girl SO many things, but I was at a mental BLOCK! Soon after she was born I made her a little dress, followed by headbands, and it just went from there. I am forever learning new tricks and traits along with managing sewing everything myself with a toddler running rampant in my sewing room/play room. Its tough, but I think because I am a Mother, I feel more motivated. That is my story. I hope you enjoy my items and much as I do.

meet amelia!

In fun on April 16, 2014 at 8:15 pm

Saturday at the Hibiscus Festival we met the most adorable person in all the land,  Amelia Strazzulla!  We were shutting down the booth and so tired from what seemed like an 18 hour day and then appeared Amelia!   Ya know when you’re just naturally drawn to someone’s spirit?  This is her!  She even has the most adorable blog called The Floral Fox! I see really big things happening for her very soon!

A little bit about Amelia … I am a 20 year-old blogger, photographer, style fanatic, thrifter, crafter, tea drinker and avid thinker from a little town in sunny Flroida. My blog, The Floral Fox is here to provide you with info on everything from sweet recipes, savory steals, travel tips, & of course, great style!

All of these new prints are on their way to Decorative Arts and soon can be bought on my new website!  Woo Hoo!  I’ve  been talking about it for over a year now but finally it’s almost to my liking.   I’m in love with this garden print and can not wait to place it in the perfect spot at Waldo’s Secret Garden where I will be living all summer after graduation!

I stopped by Countryside Citrus beachside yesterday and loaded up with citrus to get creative!   Here’s a peek at a few ‘3D prints’ so far!  All of these real life citrus prints are variations of different prints I have created digitally over time!  Gracias for the key lime pie & citrus, CSC!  The citrus came in handy last night once we started barreling through vodka! There is nothing better than fresh salty dogs!

Dave & Cindy kind of day

In dave & cindy, i made this on February 6, 2014 at 4:42 pm

A few weeks ago I took photos of David Busch and Cindy O’Dare for their radio show (and personal archives!).  I love working with these two because creatively, we are all on the same page – anything goes!  We all just showed up with bags of costumes.   I like to think of them as the modern day Rock Hudson and Doris Day.  Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!

shotguns & seashells

In fun on February 6, 2014 at 4:41 pm

Meet Chandler!  She’s the new proud owner of a very cute blog Shotguns & Seashells!  I’m obsessed with the name and all the elegant fashion tips!  Country chic & yachtical all at the same time – I wouldn’t expect anything less from this gal and I’m excited to team up for some fun collaborations soon!

A little bit about Chandler

I was literally raised on the coast of somewhere beautiful, and decided to go off to school in the South for a little change of scenery. I’m a Fashion Retail Major at the University of Alabama and have a love affair with clothes and arm candy. I’m a horse obsessed, nail polish crazed, and cowboy boot loving kind of girl. And that is how I became Shotguns and Seashells. Roll Tide.
