branding + design [ done right son ]

I haven’t been back since Saturday!  that’s just bonkers, I know!  I’ve got this huge project in a program called “processing”  and it’s racking me brain ( said with a Scottish accent).  It took me forever to pass math and re-enter college so of course, it just occurred to me that I chose a major that’s based upon algorithms and mathematics in its own form… whateves, study hard!

In the meantime, check out these amazing bottles – branded so sweetly!

In decorative arts, family, Waldo's Garden, work on June 5, 2012 at 7:42 pm

After Waldo’s Garden was featured on 100 layer cake we got tons of e-mails and calls inquiring about this new/old untouched venue.  Then Decorative Arts was honored with the Retail Star of 2012 via Home Accents… it was apparent that, although different businesses, they both had an “in” to a bigger audience.  A fan base that goes past the tri-county area.  So it has been my mission to work my little digits off getting e-mails to magazine prospects (online & published!), e-mailing everybody involved, tweeting to online editors, sitting in Barnes & Noble collecting new magazines, researching tips to woo editors, bugging my friends that have interned at magazines, etc.

The answer is always “No” until you try!

Oh!  And if you (yes, you!) have any tips or advice regarding my venture it would be much appreciated

This was such a swanky time. I get so jealous for some reason when I see these types of pictures BUT they also give me a tiny boost of happiness – which I need lately!  I feel like I’ve been in such a design slump.  Maybe its school ands seeing such amazing things being created at Mama’s Sauce that makes me feel like I have no idea what I’m doing – hmm thought bubbles that I really hope come to a screeching halt soon.  Good vibes welcomed…

I’m so in the mood to go gung-ho on an awesome project.  I’m working on my own project for a little “thank you  box of favorites” for choosing Waldo’s Secret Garden as an event venue because isn’t it just really nice to be appreciated? Duh.  I’m slowly but surely accumulating little things so bear with me until I get the sample box done.

First day at the internship at mama’s sauce & it was everything I thought it would be.  A lot of people in one room with paper envy!  There’s some serious talent in there!

It was brought to my attention by my dear friend/ kinda cousin / person i stalk (amelia graves) that pinterest has this control over women these days and it can either completely empower them or make them feel inferior, useless, and might I add –  lazzzzyyyy…  and since I fall somewhere between those categories she decided it was up to me to pinterest project this situation out.  So, for the next 30 days I will be completing one pinterest recipe or DiY a day.  You can follow my pins here to see what I’ll be up to, ya know –  if you want to (puppy dog eyes)

I want to get down to the grit with these tasks and see if a regular person can re-create these beautiful pictures that merely get pinned and never put to use.  This won’t be easy, for I have very little kitchen supplies for cooking and just enough Elmer’s glue for one 3rd grade art project.  Basically I’m going to tell you if it’s complete garbage or if it’s actually worth the time and effort.

Remember when i posted about wanting to own a letterpress one day?  It was right here then i found  a letterpress in Winter Park.  Literally I just tweeted at them “Hey got any internships?”  that simple.  Got an interview and now I’ve got a summer internship at a letterpress. Levitating.  Getting behind the scenes of the printing aspect of the design world was a goal of mine – success!  Watch this video below i found on their blog – I mean, swoooooon!
