seamless pattern

Creating a seamless pattern is pretty important when getting into different realms of design. I used a tutorial from Creature Comforts (also a great blog!)  to help me create this seamless citrus design for gift wrap and fabric this past week!

meet me in paris

In ideas, Style on October 20, 2014 at 8:31 am

Ventured to Paris  with my friend, Deb, in early September for a graduation getaway as well as a chance to visit the Paris Market for Decorative Arts!  Getting there seemed like it took 2 extra days because we kept missing connections due to delays.  It was everything I hoped it would be! Lots of walking, site seeing, too much wine and too many french cigarettes!   I packed for 2 weeks and ended up only wearing 3 outfits the entire time (mental note for next time).  My favorite part of the trip was spending a day at the Paris Flea Market.  It was by far the most amazing experience and I even walked away with 2 vintage Hermes scarves (eek!)   I can’t wait to return for longer than 6 days!

We found everything we wanted to see and do plus OUR amazing apartment in the Latin Quarters on Paris Perfect!

bbq inspired straw flags

In i made this, ideas on October 20, 2014 at 8:30 am

Straw flags are super easy to make and look really great for presentation for bridal parties, bbqs, baby showers and weddings!  Paper straws work fine but if you can find plastic ones I say go with those – the paper straw kind of just melts away and tastes funny (but photographs oh so well) Today’s theme is bbq! First download the PDF file I made (below) and follow these super easy steps to making drinks look that much more adorable at your next partayyyy.

download bbq flag straw pdf here

flags

1.Print out the PDF (link above) after downloading to your computer (preferably on a sticker matted paper or card stock)

2. cut out each individual flag ( I used a industrial cutter but scissors will do just fine!)

3. make ribbon-like cuts at both ends / 4. Use double sided tape across full length of flag

5. evenly mold the flag around the paper straw and voila!

August 6th I woke up and saw we (Vitalic Photo, Me & Waldo’s Garden) had been published via Pottery Barn’s Wedding Blog!    I tumbled down the stairs shaking paintings off the wall because I was so excited to go tell my Mother!  It was perfect timing because I had been feeling so apathetic to my creative endeavors and wondering if what I was doing even mattered – just a down day and it totally made my week and helped me gain inspiration back!  It was such an honor to be mixed in with Vitalic who is always blowing my mind with their creative ventures and photographs!  This is a continuation of my obsession with gold… It’s clearly never ending.

In the event you’re not sure what to do with decor – just spray paint it gold!

What summer looks like to me!

In ideas on May 20, 2014 at 8:51 am

There’s only a few things I’m currently obsessed with so far this summer and they make me go absolutely bananas when I see them!  Disco balls, flamingos, anything gold, the succulent called string of pearls and finally banana leaves!  I have all the items being shipped so I’m a happy camper!

Ashley Morgan!  I love her photography!  I don’t know what else I could possibly say about her because she is so talented and you’ll see it right away with these pictures below! We’ve worked together a few times now and I am excited to work with her and Annie both as a little trifecta on a few upcoming projects!

A few amazing things happened between December & January!  I was so honored when the Editor of Portfolio Magazine approached me for a feature! Check out the full magazine here!  Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company also featured me on their Facebook which was equally honoring and so sweet of them to share my citrus inspired prints (second photo).  Then one final one I found about last night was that one of my favorite sites Inspired By This featured one of my prints on their instagram a few weeks ago!  The beauty of pinterest! (last photo)!  I have to say Thank you so much for all of these people following and supporting my artwork –  it really motivates me to keep charging forward with all my design work!
