I finally got to use my new camera over the break! We had a photo shoot for some new lines that came into Decorative Arts Apparel so we found an amazing piece of property owned by Jann Jerkins and her husbamd! It was so beautiful and sprinkle of great expectations ambiance which was such a dreamboat! We had champagne and a grand time! The girls were so beautiful! It was just an overall great day!

I was so excited when David Busch told me he was going to be the new owner of Chelsea’s on Cardinal in Vero Beach. We decided we needed a temporary, newish logo for the announcement this week. Here you can find their old one. Because the business is merely switching hands for right now and no big changes will occur for a bit I wanted to keep their identity but, ya know, just give it a little pizzazz and I think it did just that! I was happy. David was happy. We were happy!
Had the pleasure of meeting Chad this weekend at my cousins wedding! It was a whirlwind weekend – we had a wedding at the Garden & I was in my cousin’s wedding down the road. I’m all kinds of wedding’d out to say the least! Anyway, I got to chatting with Mr. Ainsworth and I really dug his style and personality! I wanted to feature him on the blog and lucky for the ladies he is offering a special deal!

I was researching online and came across this articleon readership and it inspired me write a little blog on mistakes! I make them often and it’s embarrassing but I know I will continue to make them throughout my career! My mind is racing all day long between freelance, school and Waldo’s Secret Garden! I wish I could say I stop and concentrate on one project but I usually have 20 tabs open multi-tasking like a mad man! Anyways, there’s a specific publication in Vero Beach that I had issues with for months maybe even a full year (yikes)! I’m talking like I got e-mails multiple times a day “ Charlotte this is still wrong”, ” Charlotte you’re not doing it right” Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte! ha! My fault the whole time I was saving a file wrong but finally about two months ago it occurred to me that I needed to speak to the graphic designer on their team because from what I knew I was doing everything right on my end. Situation is fixed now, they just needed a different file type (simple!) but still when I think back on it I cringe! I was about to give up doing the AD just on the mere fact that I was worried these people thought I had flutter nutter for brains!
lesson learned: Speak with their designer(s) first and make sure you understand their requirements before you start creating!
I never have a problem growing older because when I was younger I constantly wanted to be older. Older people have fun. I wouldn’t go back to 7, 14, or even 18 if you paid me… well maybe I would just steer my life course in the design direction a little sooner…
Anyway, I had goals before I turned 26 and I am happy to report that I accomplished them all. Now I have to come up with a new batch before 27!
I drove back to Vero Beach for the weekend to moonlight as a photographer for the Decorative Arts Apparel & My Family. The Decorative Arts shoot took place in the old diesel plant in Vero Beach, Florida (photos below). We had this idea for chic design in an industrial setting and we nailed it! Taking photos proved to be a lot of fun. I’m not a photographer by any means – in fact, I was borrowing cameras left and right all weekend! I like to think I can imitate what I see and what I like pretty well. These shoots made me realize I need a serious camera (sorry iphone!)

When i think of the attic I think of that creepy movie Flowers in the attic & Beetlejuice oh and ghosts, raccoons, dust, and more ghosts. With all that being said I was par-oozing the west elm pin boards and found these amazing attics that have been turned into useful, beautiful spaces.
Hi! thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm a web design student at the moment moonlighting as a graphic designer. I'm blogging as fast as I'm learning things. I post pictures i like, new tricks I learn, photography and all that other jazz. I try to create most of my own posts and I will label them if the design was by me... although sometimes others inspire me too - but don't fret! I give credit where credit is due and if you use something from my design bubble here - I hope you do too.
