Lisa Rymer of Vero Beach News Weekly has been a part of my life for a few years now! She was one of the people in town that was always interested in what I was up to! When we ran into each other at the Wine, Women, and Shoes Event in Vero Beach a few weeks ago she mentioned showcasing my graphics biz! Clearly I was over the moon but I had no idea it was going to be a full page article! I love the way it came out – extremely honest. At first, I was nervous telling the tri-county area that I “didn’t know what I wanted to do at all 3 years ago” but so many people have been there and are still there, ya know? Anyway, the article is out and about floating around Vero Beach!
Over Christmas break I did a photo shoot with David Busch and Cindy O’Dare for their radio show on Waxe1370! We had a ton of fun and their inspiration was a Wes Anderson type shoot (which I loved) I can do funky that’s for sure – and they can too! Check out these photos we took at Waldo’s Secret Garden! Oh! And this first picture below… all that brightness back there was a sun shower that stuck us in the barn for longer than expected but how cool did that turn out?!
It has come to my attention this week that I am drowning myself. I went screaming out a room last week with a 1,000 yard stare because I realized I was working on other people’s requests and not even doing my own homework! Too many side projects are happening. I’m managing and pricing (along with my Mom) waldo’s garden, freelancing on the side, dreaming up ideas to make everything better, working at Rifle Paper Company when I’m not at school and it’s too much. It’s too much because I’m in a major that takes lots and lots of practice. I’ve learned that learning programming language is like learning Spanish, German, Russian, and French in one semester . It’s just hard for me and it seems like everyone around me already knows it all. The only things that comes naturally to me are socializing and eating . So, although I’m already selfish – it’s time to get more selfish and really put my nose in the books because this semester is proving to be the beginning of the end.
This bag seems like the perfect fit for me and my computer. Lately I’ve just been carrying it around in an old cloth grocery bag type thing. Probably not such a great idea considering my entire ‘life’ is in this machine.
Yesterday was probably the most fun I’ve had in quite a while! Linda Roberts over at Lime in the Coconut brought us all together for a very fun photoshoot at her magical abode. Once you take a look at her blog and eyeball the pictures below – you’ll see why magazines offer her space in their publication and why companies offer her their products! Literally wine was waiting for us at each end of the house so if you forgot your glass you just grabbed a new one – things like that make me happy I had to proclaim I do some of my best work half drunk. Which is questionable. The spanish guitar seemed as if it followed us! Just a very amazing atmosphere. I’ll shut up now, k?
I made this design for a save the date idea for friends a few weeks ago but ended up liking it so much that I turned it into a iPhone wallpaper for you to download! Just * save it to your computer ( as you would save any other image), email it to yourself, open on your phone, save to your phone then set to wallpaper and … you’ve got a fun little background!
Found this website with $10 FONTS! Just passing along the knowledge. Sometimes they are free, sometimes they are hundreds of dollars and then sometimes… you get lucky and they’re ten dollars.
Ya know that rap song that’s all “I’m gettin’ paperrrrrrrr” and they’re shoveling out hundred dollar bills in the video? Well, that’s like me except I’m actually just getting really dandy print paper from interning that desperately needs to get up off my floor and frame itself. Here’s the non offensive version of the song.
THEN there’s this gem of a website that makes me laugh “stuff white people like” and i found myself guilty of #105 (among many others)
yepp, that’s right – unpaid internships… in my defense, most people I interviewed with in my field were unwilling to pay students for some odd reason but i chose the one I knew I’d enjoy the most and learn the most from!
I just found out Chloe Richards is the photographer behind some of my favorite pictures that I come across on occasion. here are some other little diddys she done..
Hi! thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm a web design student at the moment moonlighting as a graphic designer. I'm blogging as fast as I'm learning things. I post pictures i like, new tricks I learn, photography and all that other jazz. I try to create most of my own posts and I will label them if the design was by me... although sometimes others inspire me too - but don't fret! I give credit where credit is due and if you use something from my design bubble here - I hope you do too.
